IT ONLY TAKES ONE
Conveyor belts can trip you up. The good condition of all those rubber belts and rollers that move the raw materials around your site are essential for the plant to continue being profitable. The rollers are greased in accordance with the lubrication program to make sure the wheels of industry keep turning but then something gets into one of them and it begins to warm up. If it remains undiscovered it will eventually either seize up or disintegrate and the outcome, at the very least, will be an unscheduled halt in production and a new roller. If you’re lucky it won’t include a ripped conveyor belt.
The roller in this image was on a conveyor at a remote site that was close to a kilometre in length. It was the only one to show up like this in infrared but finding it meant that the client could avoid the unexpected breakdown and halt in production that was coming their way.
